To protect the innocent all names have been change. Fifi claims she was coerced with doggie treats. Pimp Daddy and Jon plead the 5th. And Roxie, well she says she can't help it if she's too sexy for her shirt.

Yes, I'm counting my blessing that my pre-teen ds chose to ignore me last night when I told him to get dishes done. Shortly after I made my speech on how he lived here too and his friends are the ones using our dishes, I went to bed.

Big surprise when I got up this morning and they still weren't done. The cool mom that I am, I left every bit of them for him.

As we were sitting done working on grammar, the dish washer made funny zapping sounds and the lights on that circuit began to flicker.

I hollered at Mr. Scott to turn off the flipping dishwasher, (it was easier for him to move at that point than it was for me.) He must have missed the whole zapping and flashing of lights drama. Before he asked why, I had hopped over a few chairs and landed on my feet a bit tenderly and like an idiot had the dishwasher open, checking for the fire source.

"Where's the fire extinguisher?" Crap, we don't have one.

Here comes the 'why', "Because it's smoking!" He in turn, decides it's time to take action as if a few curse words out of his mouth would help, yeah you know I was thinking them any way. Power off and assured that no fire was inside the dishwasher door, I gagged as smoke continued to drift upward and laughed.

If anybody has ever smelled an electrical fire, they are the worst. And if anybody knows our family, we've had relative peace and quiet among our household where appliances and plumbing are concerned.

Remind me to tell you about the invasion of rabbits and the bewildered squirrels. The dogs are having a heyday.
